Frequently Asked Questions about our Kosher Vacations
Kosher World Adventures is a premium small-group travel company founded by Josh Rubin in 2015. We create fully Glatt Kosher journeys for active Jewish adults — especially those 50 and over — who want to experience the world deeply, comfortably, and without compromising their values. From Japan and Thailand to Morocco and Hawaii, every trip is built around exceptional kosher food, meaningful cultural experiences, and a carefully chosen group of like-minded travelers. You focus on the journey. We handle everything else.
Three things set KWA apart. First, the people: Josh personally speaks with every traveler before the trip to build groups that are genuinely warm, positive, and compatible.
Second, the food: our kosher meals are adapted to local cuisine, so in Italy you eat Italian, in Thailand you eat Thai — always Glatt Kosher, always fresh, and thoughtfully prepared.
Third, the depth: our journeys are designed to help travelers experience a destination in a more meaningful way — with time to connect to the culture, the people, and the atmosphere of each place, rather than simply rushing from site to site.
KWA trips are designed for active, curious Jewish adults — especially those 50 and over — who want to explore the world deeply while living fully by their values. Our travelers love culture, nature, and meaningful experiences. They are not looking for a cruise buffet or a rushed bus tour. They want to walk through a Japanese temple, taste local food, share Shabbat in a beautiful setting, and come home with stories. Solo travelers, couples, and small groups of friends all feel immediately at home on our tours.
Absolutely. KWA was built with the 50+ traveler in mind — someone who is active and energetic, but who also appreciates comfort, good pacing, and a warm group atmosphere. Our itineraries include hiking, cultural immersion, and local adventures without being physically overwhelming. Think adventurous and enriching, not exhausting. Many of our most loyal travelers are in their 60s and 70s and keep coming back trip after trip.
KWA trips are designed with a balanced rhythm — full of meaningful experiences, cultural exploration, nature, and adventure, while still allowing travelers time to enjoy the journey itself.
We carefully plan each itinerary so travelers feel taken care of without feeling rushed from place to place. There is space to enjoy a meal, connect with the group, explore independently, or simply take in the atmosphere of where you are.
Many travelers tell us the pace feels active, enriching, and energizing — without becoming exhausting.
Yes — many solo travelers join KWA journeys and quickly feel comfortable within the group atmosphere. Before each trip, Josh personally speaks with travelers to get to know them, answer questions, and help them better understand the experience ahead.
Because KWA groups are small and built around shared experiences, solo travelers often find it easy to connect naturally with others throughout the journey — during meals, cultural experiences, Shabbat, and daily activities.
Many travelers arrive solo and leave with meaningful new friendships and memories shared together.
Yes. Every KWA journey is fully Glatt Kosher from beginning to end. We work closely with local Chabad communities, kosher suppliers, and experienced kitchens to provide fresh kosher meals throughout the trip. One of the things travelers love most is that the food still reflects the local culture. In Japan you may enjoy kosher sushi and Japanese-inspired cuisine, while in Thailand the meals reflect authentic Thai flavors adapted to Glatt Kosher standards.
Yes. KWA tours are designed for travelers who want to explore the world while maintaining their Jewish rhythm and values. Whenever possible, we organize daily minyanim and create a comfortable environment for tefillah throughout the journey.
Shabbat on a KWA trip is often one of the most meaningful parts of the journey. Travelers enjoy beautiful meals, community, singing, rest, meaningful conversation, and the feeling of experiencing Shabbat somewhere unique in the world. Depending on the destination, Shabbat may be spent together with local Jewish communities or hosted privately for the group.
KWA trips are known for fresh, high-quality kosher food that reflects the local destination. Rather than serving the same food everywhere, we try to incorporate local flavors and cultural experiences into the meals whenever possible, while always maintaining Glatt Kosher standards.
Yes. Before each trip, travelers fill out a form where they can share dietary restrictions, allergies, and other important food-related information. We review these details carefully so we can understand each traveler’s needs and prepare as best as possible for the journey.
Most KWA trips are active but balanced. Travelers should feel comfortable walking, exploring, and participating in full sightseeing days, but the goal is not extreme physical difficulty. We focus on meaningful experiences, comfortable pacing, and enjoying the destination rather than rushing through it.
Walking varies by destination and itinerary. Some days include city walks, nature visits, markets, or historical sites, while other days are lighter and more relaxed. Specific activity levels are described on each trip page.
KWA carefully selects comfortable hotels that match the atmosphere and experience of each destination. We prioritize location, comfort, cleanliness, and a relaxing group experience.
Many itineraries include free time to rest, explore independently, enjoy the hotel, or simply take in the destination at your own pace.
No. Travelers do not need to be athletes to enjoy KWA journeys. However, participants should be reasonably active and comfortable with walking, touring, airports, and full travel days.

To make the journey accessible for different activity levels, KWA offers two tracks:
a Hiking Group for more experienced and active hikers

Both groups share the spirit of the journey while experiencing Israel in their own way.
